NUS has recently clinched 3 awards in the SHOOOT Fiesta Awards,
namely the Best TVC award (school), Best Long Machinima (school) and Best Visual Effects award (school).
The SHOOOT Awards aims to rejuvenate creativity, inspire innovation and proliferate the best of practices in New Media content creation. SHOOOT is an initiative which had received support from the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts as well as the Creative Community Singapore.
While 2 of the prized videos are made by NUS students for their assignments, the video "Love of Lotherien" , produced by our very own ridgecats, claimed the Best Visual Effects award! The very same video that got norminated to be one of the Top 4 in the Machinima Expo 2009 under the Asian Jury catergory. As a student community, we believe that our fellow schoolmates will be able to produce even better productions.

Our long awaited hunt is finally up!
Just find the little RidgeCat heads with the party hat any buy them (Free of course).
Here are the clues for the 28 hunt items.
#1: If you need help, just IM me.
#2: A masterpiece at uni hall.
#3: Time for a break at the Ridgecat café.
#4: Don’t want to be late for the first guest lecture of the New Year at Tan Chin Tuan Wing.
#5: Grab your free milo!
#6: Remember to evacuate the dancefloor in an orderly manner.
#7: Grab a Ridgecat Cola at the Vending machine.
#8: Let’s go fishing!
#9: Listening to out-of-this-world music.
#10: Wheee! Down the spiral slide we go!
#11: Time for my daily exercise.
#12: Hanging out by the campfire.
#13: Cooking the fish the old fashion way.
#14: Swinging by the sea.
#15: Excuse me, is this the NUS teaching and learning centre?
#16: Enter the rezzing zone.
#17: Hurry down to the auditorium, the talk is about to start.
#18: Splashing in the fountain.
#19: I think the slot machines are broken, they just keep on running.

@ Steamboat at Crystal Jade
Today, we gathered at a nice restaurant for a steamboat.
The service is not very good, probably due to the crowds.
Not enough time was given to enjoy our food.
Luckily, their Xiao Long Bao is okay.
But the things that made our day, or rather our night was the unexpected gifts!
Livid and Fang gave each of the EXCO member a Christmas pressie!

PS: We learnt that some of the students are hesitating to start on their Machinima as they are concerned that their video would not be up to standard. Just try your best and make one. Doesn't matter if your video is not as good as those we have seen, at least you learnt something and made good use of the acquired skills from the workshop. Hope to see the entries coming! =D

Amazing Design using Adobe Photoshop CS4
Many had gained immense knowledge that they can now make use of and will probably fare well in the upcoming NUS RidgeCat Contest.
